Church of St. John the Baptist

St. John the Baptist: a historic and religious heritage

The 18th-century Church of St. John the Baptist is an architectural and religious treasure built of slate masonry. It is notable for the 18th century Baroque altarpiece with the image of St. Roch, and a Renaissance baptismal font. Also worth noting on the inside are the three touching images of the Virgin and Child, the side chapels and a wooden choir complete. The freestanding bell tower, with bells from Montehermoso, and the distinctive atrium, add character to this remarkable temple.
