WHAT WILL YOU DO?
From the hand of one of the best master millers, you can learn about the culture of extra virgin olive oil, its history and its roots in the villages of northern Extremadura.
We encourage you to discover or rediscover together the Interpretation Center of the Olive, the Olive Grove and the Oil, in Marchagaz, the culture of the oil, measures, means of production, storage, transport … even the science studied today, applied in these rudimentary and ancient means of production that surprise and amaze by the ingenuity developed by the people of the time without the means and knowledge of today.
By doing this activity you will learn to love nature and you will contribute to maintain the olive grove manzanilla cacereña, to promote organic farming and sustainable production!

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Extremadura is one of the best areas in Europe for bird watching, due to its diversity of habitats and the excellent state of conservation of its meadows and natural areas.

Led by Dani, an expert nature guide and biologist, you will discover the most spectacular landscapes of Tierras de Granadilla and you will be able to learn about the main ornithological species characteristic of the Gabriel y Galán reservoir environment with special emphasis on visualizing the almost 2500 individuals of the common crane that winters in this area in the company of several species of ducks, waders and other species associated with irrigated agricultural environments. The observation of their movements is a unique experience and the characteristic trumpeting sound is one of the most exciting spectacles in the ornithological world.

We provide you with the technical equipment: binoculars and telescopes, and you just worry about following the flight of the cranes on an unforgettable route!

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Are you passionate about nature? Do you want to discover and learn about the Iberian fauna that lives in Oliva de Plasencia? The diversity of the place allows you to enjoy the observation of forest birds, mountain birds, scrubland birds, dehesa birds, crop birds and aquatic birds.

Pedro José will receive you at the farm to make together an environmental interpretation route through the observation of the species that live in the pasture. You will learn about the biodiversity that surrounds them, the types of birds that live and lived there, their characteristics and their way of life. Then, you will have fun in a workshop investigating the tracks, traces and signs of the animals that inhabit the meadow.

An activity to raise awareness of the natural and animal environment, a sensory experience that will sharpen your senses!

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
A kayaking experience that perfectly combines the observation and interpretation of nature in a historical context of great relevance for the territory that has left a legacy worth discovering; the history of the House of Alba and its relationship with Tierras de Granadilla.
Your adventure will take place descending by kayak on the Alagón river, enjoying a beautiful ride sailing and watching some birds of the riparian and pasture ecosystems up to the bridge of Guijo de Granadilla, known as “El Pontón” because of the size of its arch. From the kayak you will get to know the ecosystem so valuable and valued by the Dukes of Alba, and you will observe the winged protagonists that are found in this area at the edge of the Special Protection Area for Birds of the Gabriel y Galán reservoir. At the end of the activity, you will enjoy a snack to recharge your batteries.

Discovering the magic of Hervás to Granadilla, between trails, waterfalls and spectacular natural areas.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

In the mood for an adventure full of nature? Put yourselves to the test by discovering the Heidi trail in Hervás. You will go through a forest track with an amazing panoramic view of the valley, its corners and waterfalls. If you dare, you will do a circular route through trails and descents that will leave you wanting more. You have more than 200km of tracks and trails to enjoy, not to be missed!
You will leave from Hervás to enter the Ambroz Valley at an altitude of 1200 meters. You will walk through the Castañar Gallego, you will observe waterfalls and the source of its rivers to go down by trails until you reach the oak located in the scrubland. The route continues towards Granadilla, pedalling through the pasture and climbing pine forests.
You will enjoy the spectacular fauna of the place, where you can see deer during the rutting season and cranes in autumn and winter. Passing by the reservoir, you will meet the birds that nest there and you will feel the aroma of the oaks and cork oaks.

The route takes you through a multitude of landscapes and ecosystems, as diverse as the Extremadura pastures, irrigated lands and lush pine forests.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

We propose you a guided route by electric bicycle, 40 km long and 530 m of elevation gain. Starting from the town of Carcaboso, you will begin the beautiful journey along the La Plata Greenway and the Tierras of Granadilla, following the tracks of the Astorga – Plasencia Railway, better known as the “Vía de la Plata Railway”, which will take you into the Greenway to enjoy spectacular scenery.
Then, you can visit the site of the Roman City of Cáparra and its quadricorn arch that guards the passage of the Via Verde through this ancient city. You will also visit the abandoned village of Villa de Granadilla, protected by its impressive tower and wall. At the end of the route, you will be picked up by a company vehicle to take you back to the starting point.
Are you ready to discover the multitude of landscapes that accompany this route?
Ambroz-Cáparra is a place of contrasts, lush pastures of oak and cork oak, and a great history of cultures, Celts, Vetons and Jews who left their mark on the territory.

You will fall in love with one of the best-preserved forests in southern Europe, the
Galician Chestnut grove of the Ambroz Valley, declared a Protected Landscape. Through a
gentle circular route of 5km you will learn, from the hand of your expert guide in nature,
the variety of trees that treasures this jewel of botany with more than 260 hectares of
feral chestnut grove.
A pleasant walk where you will learn and listen to the sounds of the forest, you will enter
a protected environment to enjoy the biodiversity and tranquillity. You will discover the
secrets of the chestnut tree through a biological interpretation of the chestnut tree, you
will observe a chestnut tree with more than 150 years old, as well as a small group of
millenary chestnut trees. On your return, you will have the opportunity to walk along a
section of the Heidi trail, learn about its history, the reproduction of the chestnut tree
during the flowering and fruiting seasons.

The Pinajarro is undoubtedly one of the symbols of Hervás. We encourage you to climb with an expert mountain guide to one of the highest mountains in Extremadura with 2099 meters. This magnificent granite mass greets imposingly at the entrance of Hervás exhibiting its grandeur showing a harmonious landscape of high mountains.
A linear route of 18 km with a long and gradual ascent that will test you physically and mentally, making an effort that will be pleasantly rewarded with the crowning of its summit. You will pass through the Chorrera de Hervás, the Pista Heidi, the Prados de las Fuentes, the Canchalitos, the Pinajarro peak and Las Charcas Verdes.
Spectacular views of the mountains and valleys of northern Extremadura await you; steep and rugged mountains and glacial cirques on the north-eastern slopes of the Sierra de Béjar and Candelario. And to regain strength at the end of the route, nothing better than a great snack with local products!

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Are you ready to live an exciting experience descending the riverbed of the Gorge? If you have already had a first contact with canyoning, you can’t miss new sensations! Assisted, when necessary, by equipped rope installations, by qualified guides, and equipped with harness, wetsuit and helmet, we will have fun taking advantage of the orography of the terrain. We will make rappels, slides and jumps in a very vertical environment.
You will be welcomed to start a hiking route to the top of the Garganta Perdida, where you will find very panoramic rappels with views of the whole region: Gabriel y Galán reservoir, Trasierra region and Las Hurdes. In the upper part you will make a more scenic route, with spectacular views. The Perdida gorge is not very aquatic but vertical, in the lower part of the ravine, you will feel the adrenaline going through more boxed rappels.
