Finally, we reach the Piedras Labradas pass, where we find the ruins of a Roman temple surrounded by granite formations. This historic site radiates the essence of the ancient civilisations that considered it sacred. It is believed to have been the site of a Vettone settlement.

This trail follows the route of the old Plasencia-Astorga railway line, which has been converted into a nature trail or greenway. There are two clearly differentiated sections in terms of scenery.

The first section starts in Béjar and descends through the Ambroz Valley, passing through Baños de Montemayor, Hervás, Aldeanueva del Camino, Casas del Monte and ends just before Jarilla. This section is ideal in spring, summer and autumn, with beautiful mountain scenery, tunnels and forests. Along this first section you can visit all the towns along the way in the Ambroz Valley via the bike-friendly connections.

The second part, from Jarilla to Plasencia, is mostly flat with dehesa landscapes but more exposure to the wind. This trail is recommended for autumn, winter or spring due to the lack of shade in summer. The final stretch takes us to Plasencia through the Protected Landscape of Valcorchero, crossing the picturesque bridges over the Jerte River.
