Take advantage of your visit to the house-museum of the poet Gabriel y Galán in Guijo de Granadilla to visit this striking which has been a Cultural Heritage Asset since 1986.
The Parish Church of St. Andrew is located in the municipality of Guijo de Granadilla and is one of the most remarkable churches in the Ambroz Cáparra region. Built entirely of stone masonry, the design is quite unique in that it has a single nave that narrows from the head to the foot of the building.
Notable features include the 17th-century granite baptismal font, the 18th-century carvings of St. Anthony, St. Raymond Nonnatus, and St. Andrew, and the 16th-century representation of the Virgin of Hojaranzo nursing the Child.
But perhaps the most striking feature of the church is its main chapel, which boasts a polygonal design and is adorned with tierceron vaults. The paintings on the five panels refer to different periods from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
