Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church

This Renaissance treasure with a touch of Gothic charm rises up under the sky of the Assumption.

Step into its front atrium, where a magnificent granite transept welcomes you and invites you to explore this timeless gem.

Its rectangular interior, interlaced with semicircular arches and Gothic pillars, supports a wooden gabled roof. The presbytery has a beautiful wooden coffered ceiling decorated with lacework.

The choir, rising majestically, features a central column with a volute capital, gracefully embracing the woodwork. On the outside, a relief plaque features two cherubic figures holding the coat of arms of the Virgin Mary.

The exterior of the main entrance door features a beautiful, depressed arch with archivolts and a relief plaque depicting two cherubic figures. The three-tiered tower houses the belfry and prominently displays the coat of arms of Bishop Vargas de Carvajal on its second level.
