The trail begins at the Hervás Tourist Office and ascends along paths that cross the Arroyo de los Herradores before reaching a chestnut forest. The ascent continues to the Heidi Trail and then on to the Marisancho firebreak, which is the final stretch of the VK.
Along the way, dense forests of chestnut, oak and pine trees stand out, as well as high mountain scrub at elevations over 1,200 metres. The trail travels over some old mule drivers paths that were vital to shepherds in the past. It also traverses the town of Hervás. During the last stretch of the trail you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views.
