Hermitages in Guijo de Granadilla: Blessed Christ of Mercy and St. Anne

Festive hermitages in Guijo de Granadilla

Visit the Blessed Christ hermitage and find your inspiration. The poet José María Gabriel y Galán, born in Salamanca, found the inspiration to create one of his most famous works in this temple: The Blessed Christ

In addition to St. Andrew’s Church, there are two other religious monuments in Guijo de Granadilla that are worth a visit: the Holy Christ and St. Anne hermitages.

The people of Guijo de Granadilla flock to this magnificent place to celebrate the procession of the same name and other religious events, during the celebration of the patron saint’s festivities on 14 September.

The St. Anne hermitage, which was rebuilt in the late 18th century in the Baroque style, is the local venue for the festivities that pay homage to the patron saint on 26 July.
